Video Production Goals
1. Purpose
2. Tell a story
- script
- storyboards
- don’t start any project without a purpose and a story!
3. Attention to detail
- steady the camera (no one wants to watch a bumpy uneven video)
- mic is recording good audio (poor quality sound ruins ALL videos)
- focus (essential)
- composition (where do you want to viewer to look?) frame it right!
- white balance (unnatural colors don’t ever look good)
- editing and effects (transitions, sound doesn’t match up, etc.)
- size of video (does it fit the screen for the purpose?) Will it fit on the media?
- sharing (who will view it and how?)
4. Take time on your video, but not too much time…
5. Work with a group of interested people. Scripts and practice before filming. Give credit where it is due!
6. Have fun and explore ways of expressing yourself through the lens!
