1. Purpose
2. Tell a story
- script
- storyboards
- don't start any project without a purpose and a story!
3. Attention to detail
- steady the camera (no one wants to watch a bumpy uneven video)
- mic is essential for good audio (poor quality of sound ruins ALL videos)
- focus and have a focal point to each clip
- composition (where do you want the viewer to look?) frame it right!
- white balance (unnatural colors don't ever look good)
- editing and effects (good smooth transitions, sound needs to match talking, fun effects to catch attention)
- size of video (does it fit the screen for the purpose?) Will it fit on the media?
- sharing (who will view it and how?)
- lighting really sets the mood of your project, make sure you use enough of it!
4. Take time on your videos, but not too much time...
5. If you barrow equipment, make sure to get it back on time for others to use.
6. Work with a group or interested people in your project. Script and practice before filming.
Give credit where credit is due.
7. Have fun and explore ways of expressing yourself through the lens and video media.
Be proud of your work, but be careful (we are in an educational environment)
