1. Shoot some photos with a Normal / Standard = 50 mm lens (what you see is what you get)

2. Shoot some photos with a Short Lens = Wide Angle Lens = Less than 50 mm such as 35 mm or less
These are photos that push your subject back smaller than your eye sees and has more in the background around your subject!
3. Shoot some photos with a Long Lens = Telephoto Lens = More than 50 mm such as 70 or more
These are photos that pull your subject closer than your eye sees and less in the background, even blurred BOKAH background!
Zoom Lenses
Zoom lenses can push and pull your subject closer and push the subject back smaller...with your phone you use your fingers to do this and professional camera lenses you twist the zoom dial or push/pull the focal length back and forth. Watch the numbers on a professional lens to pull under 50 or push over 50 or stay on 50mm.
